PHRYGIA, Philomelium. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Æ (33mm, 22.02 g, 7h). Paulos, son of Hadrianos, magistrate for the second time. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front / Severus Alexander on horseback galloping right, chlamys flowing behind, holding spear. RPC VI Online 5791 var. (bust); SNG Leypold 1713 var. (same). Dark brown patina, even roughness. Good VF. Rare variety.
